The Air Jordan 1 Mid was a latecomer to the party when it was finally released in the early 2000s, finding a place in an industry that had previously been dominated by the J1 Low and High. Though it took a while for the Mid to find its feet, the new approach put forward by designer Peter Moore’s successor, Tinker Hatfield (who introduced the lower-height Air Jordan 3 after consulting with His Airness, Michael Jordan), did eventually succeed. The main appeal of the Mid was its accessibility, which gave fans the opportunity to own a pair of J1s in a time when the after-sale market was driving up the price of the OG silhouette. However, there’s much less difference between the models today, with most considering Jordan 1 Mids to be just as exclusive and luxurious as their old-school counterparts. If you’re part of the crowd of next-generation sneakerheads, you’ll want to check out our selection of colourways, including white and blue.
